Temporary hiatus from blogging, but not from healthy habits

I realized I haven't posted in a week!  Between my family's visit, getting ready for our big camping vacation (which requires a fair bit of prep work), and general life stuff, I'm just not blogging right now.

I don't plan to qui this blog, but I realize that other stuff is eclipsing posting for right now at least.

Take care & I plan to be back to more regular posting soon!

Food and funnies

I didn't photograph my ground turkey meatloaf (breakfast), grilled chicken salad (lunch), or cherries (snack).  Here is dinner: salmon, roasted asparagus, and mashed cauliflower.

Dessert: a fudgecicle

Salad: Yur doin it wrong.

This one cracked me up.

Food

Snack:

12 almonds, a cup of cherries.

Dinner: turkey chili.  I roasted some green beans, I will probably have some later.  Maybe a popsicle.

A good day, both in terms of getting a lot accomplished (I made a list and proceeded to cross things off it), as well as food.  Boring, but good.

Fam is arriving tomorrow.  I am excited!

My BIL and his family are leaving Sat am for a cruise from Ft. L.  They are arriving Thursday night (except BIL - he's flying in late Friday due to work).  Hub (it's his brother) called to invite them over.  I choose to believe that even though they are going to be 20 minutes from our house, they haven't called because they've been busy with HS graduation for their twins.

Have a good one!

Lunch

Baked tomatoes with basil and a slice of cheese, leftover green beans, and a grilled chicken thigh. And unsweet tea.

Forgot to mention

Started this program at lunch yesterday.

Sweet mercy, it is HARD.

The return of the poor quality photos!

Alright, back to the photos as there has been a decline in accountability.

Breakfast: 2 eggs with hot sauce, a leftover sweet potato (eaten plain, shared with dogs), and a cup of coffee with alomnd milk.

I miss Chubby McGee's blog - I was new to it and I hate that it has been closed. There are some really great bloggers out there, folks who are really terrific writers - able to really express themselves.  I'm not one of them and that's okay - I'm more of a math geek. :-)  When I find one and they close their blog or abandon it, it makes me sad.

Okay, not back to work!

Randomness

Before I sign off and go do some housework:

Blah de blah

I haven't been photographing my food, but for the most part just look at the older images.  This week's plan: turkey burgers for breakfast, salad with grilled chicken for lunch, and grapes for snack.  Last night we had steak and green beans for dinner.

Still tracking in sparkpeople.  My calorie target in sparkpeople is 1200-1500.  I generally eat around 1300 calories per day.  I find that if I eat quality foods, that is plenty and I rarely get hungry.  Still using the fitness center at work - Rockin Body wraps up next week and then the new lunchtime series is "P90X2".

One thing I like about living here is the trees in the parking lots.  Here is a shot taken from the car when we dropped mine off to get tires:

The family is coming next week and I am so excited!  And I'm glad because the hub and I have some big decisions to make around work and possibly relocating, and its important (to us) that we all sit down and discuss it.

Weather here is lovely - its been rainy for most of the week, so the sunshine is just in time for the weekend! I feel a dip in the pool in my near future!

Out of town

We decided on a last minute road trip up to Jacksonville to visit some friends.  Saturday morning I shopped, did a bit of food prep, packed the cooler & a bag, and we headed out.

The nice thing about good friends is that they don't look at you weird when you show up with your meals paked in your cooler. :-)

Weather was nice and we had a great time.

One thing I like to take when we travel is the bags of frozen pre-cooked shrimp.  They are very conveneint because they require zero prep, can be eaten cold straight out of the cooler, and they are fairly healthy.

Yesterday I did 360 kettlebell swings, a quick upper body circuit (push ups, bench press, shoulder press, dips) and then did Shaun T Rockin Abs and Express Party (or some such) at lunch.

I had done enough food prep and had enough stuff in the freezer that we had breakfast and lunch ready to go yesterday and the husband grilled up chicken thighs and turkey burgers last night for the rest of the week.

I got a little nuts on the fruit this week - kiwi, mangoes, cantelope, blueberries, cherries, and a pineapple.  I limit myself to 2 servings of fruit per day - I could get a little crazy with it.  But it should last till we get it eaten - if anything starts looking dodgy I can always freeze it, right?

Have a good day!
