My bf has had a very rough week at work, so I am especially grateful that it is Friday afternoon. We aren't going anywhere this weekend - our plan is to do some work on the house.
We have a small hallway that joins the two bedrooms and a bathroom. When we first moved in this had 2 different wallpapers separated by a chair rail high border. When we removed it, we realized there were multiple layers of paper and paint and the walls were gypsum board. We got everything down and my son & a friend were able to mud and sand so the walls are ready to be primed and painted!
While this house has a lot of great features, unattractive wall to wall carpet over hardwoods, and rooms that either had 1980s wallpaper or contractor white walls did not show it off to its best effect. We pulled up the carpets and had the floors refinished and are removing wallpaper and painting. It's hard to tell in photos, but the difference in person just by painting in the living room is amazing. It looks so much homier! We are using a very neutral color (except the bathrooms) that is sort of a pale beige meets pale grey and plays nicely with warm and cool tones. We may change down the road, but it's a good jumping off point.
The scale was up 0.8 pounds this week after being down like 0.6 last week. I did a big shop today and stocked up on lean proteins & vegetables.
I hope you have a terrific weekend!
